Seven families are on board a bus, making their way to vacation paradise, a lovely riverside campsite set in the lush mountain forests. But from the moment they arrive, it is clear that this is no ordinary get-away.
Greeted by the rather cold camp leader, Kakiuchi, the parents are called into a meeting outlining the weekend's activities. The assembled adults all have two things in common – they are abusive parents and they have financial problems. The camp has offered them a deal: before they kill their kids or lose them to social services, they can sell them! The camp has agreed to purchase the children for their organs. It's a win/win proposition for all the adults involved.
The trip will consist of normal camping fun that will also allow the organizers to secretly assess the health of the children. As a treat, there will be special last supper before the children are put “to sleep.”
But one of the parents notices a loophole in the scheme. If one child “disappears” or drops out, there will be more money to be shared by the remaining parents. This sparks a battle of sabotage and one-up-man ship, as the participants attempt to increase their individual share. For the adults, getting through the weekend, while keeping the kids both intact and in the dark, becomes a crazy ordeal.
Then one afternoon, when the grown-ups are singing karaoke, the children piece together their suspicions of their parents' suddenly over-protective and kind behaviour.
When they realize the shocking truth, they confront Kakiuchi and hatch their own plan… |
